TERMS
The short version: the tools are free, and they come as they are. Check anything that matters before you rely on it — above all, a Bitcoin address.
THE AGREEMENT
These terms cover noirapps.io and its tools — MELTER, BITOW, DOPPLER, MCP and GATO. By using them, you accept these terms. There is no account to open and nothing to buy. How we handle data is set out in the privacy policy.
AS IS
The tools are provided as is and as available, without warranties of any kind, express or implied — including accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose and uninterrupted availability. We may change, suspend or retire any tool at any time.
YOUR DATA
MELTER and BITOW work inside your browser. What you put into them stays with you, and so does responsibility for it: check transformed data before you depend on it.
BITOW
BITOW checks that an address is well formed and that its checksum is valid. It cannot tell you who controls the address. Before you ask for or send money, confirm the address through a second channel. Bitcoin payments cannot be reversed. Noir never holds keys or funds, and cannot recover a payment sent to the wrong address. Nothing on this site is financial advice.
DOPPLER
DOPPLER groups, ranks and places headlines automatically, and it will sometimes be wrong. Headlines and summaries belong to their publishers, and each one links to the original article. Treat DOPPLER as a starting point, not a source of record.
MCP
NOIR MCP gives AI assistants the same tools, under these same terms. Calls pass through your AI provider, whose terms apply too. It has limits — 256 KB per call, and a few calls a second from any one address — and we may block clients that abuse it. An assistant’s answer is its own: check anything that matters, and the BITOW warning above holds for addresses checked over MCP as well.
GATO
GATO is a toy: one cat, and a chat everyone on the page can read. Be decent in it — no harassment, hate, threats, sexual content, spam, or anyone’s personal information. Some words are eaten and some messages refused automatically, and we may remove lines, clear the chat, or block addresses that abuse it. The cat is rude on purpose: everything it says was written in advance, is aimed at what people do in the chat and never at who they are, and names no one but its random visitors. It never dies, but it can be starved, and the chat can vanish at any time.
SUPPORT
Paying the address on the support page is voluntary. It is a gift: it buys nothing — no features, no priority, no obligations — and, like any Bitcoin payment, it cannot be reversed or refunded.
ACCEPTABLE USE
Don’t use the site to break the law, to attack or probe it, or to overload it with automated requests. Don’t use BITOW to pass off an address as someone else’s.
OWNERSHIP
The NOIR name and wordmark, and the site’s design and code, belong to Noir. What you make with the tools — transformed data, QR codes, links and embeds — is yours.
LIABILITY
To the fullest extent the law allows, Noir is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss, or for any loss of data, funds or profit, arising from your use of the site or its tools. Where the law does not allow liability to be excluded, it is limited to the smallest amount the law permits.
Nothing in these terms takes away rights that the law gives you and does not allow you to give up.
OTHER SITES
The site links to sites we do not control, such as news publishers and X. We are not responsible for their content or their practices.
CHANGES
We may update these terms. The date at the top shows when they last changed, and using the site after that means you accept the new version.
